Documentation & FAQ
Everything you need to know about swap.io — connecting a wallet and depositing, trading prediction markets, automatically copying top traders, tracking your portfolio, and reading trader analytics.
Getting Started
swap.io is a prediction market platform where you can trade on real-world events. Start trading in minutes by connecting your wallet, enabling trading, and depositing funds.
What Is swap.io?
swap.io is a prediction market trading platform powered by Polymarket. Trade on the outcomes of real-world events — from elections and sports to economics and technology. Each market shows a price that reflects the crowd's estimate of the probability of each outcome.
When an event happens, the winning outcome pays $1.00 per share and the losing outcome pays $0.00. You can buy shares if you think an outcome is underpriced, or sell if you think it's overpriced. swap.io also lets you follow successful traders and copy their trades automatically.
Connecting Your Wallet
To start, click the Connect button in the top right. You can sign in with email, a social account (Google, Discord, etc.), or a Web3 wallet like Phantom.
swap.io focuses on Solana wallets, so you'll see Solana-compatible wallets in the connection flow. Your wallet lets you approve transactions and sign trades securely.
Enabling Trading
No gas fees are charged, and your private key is never shared with us. The setup typically completes in under a minute, and you'll see a success message when it's done.
- We deploy a trading wallet so Polymarket can hold your funds and execute your orders
- We create trading credentials that let you place orders
- We approve the necessary tokens so you can start trading immediately
Depositing Funds
Your funds are automatically converted to pUSD (Polymarket's collateral) and arrive on Polygon. The bridge process usually takes 5–15 minutes depending on network activity.
You can also track your deposit status in the History tab. If you're depositing for the first time, we'll show you a deposit address and QR code to copy to your wallet.
Withdrawing Funds
To withdraw, click the Withdraw button. Pick your destination chain and token, enter the amount and recipient address, then confirm. Your funds leave your trading wallet and go to the Polymarket bridge, which sends them to your chosen chain.
Withdrawals also take 5–15 minutes depending on network congestion. You can only withdraw what you have in your trading balance — see your balance in the Portfolio page or the wallet button at the top.
Viewing Your Portfolio
Your cash balance is displayed at the top of the portfolio. This is the pUSD available in your trading wallet, ready to buy more shares or withdraw.
Trading & Markets
Prediction markets let you buy or sell shares on real-world outcomes. Each share is worth $1 if you're right and $0 if you're wrong. Prices — shown in cents — represent the market's estimate of probability.
How Prices Work
Every outcome has a price shown in cents (¢). A price of 45¢ means the market estimates that outcome has a 45% chance of happening. A price of 5¢ is very unlikely; 95¢ is almost certain.
Prices move as traders buy and sell. If more people buy 'Yes', the price rises. If they sell, it falls. You profit when you buy low and sell high, or sell high and buy low.
Browsing Markets
Start at 'All Markets' to see everything, or pick a category like Crypto, Sports, or Politics. Each category has filters to narrow your search. Use the search bar to find specific topics, and sort by 24-hour volume, newest, liquidity, or ending soon.
- All Markets: View all active markets, searchable by keyword.
- Categories: Browse by topic — each has sub-filters (e.g., crypto timeframes, sports leagues).
- Trending: Quick carousel of high-volume markets.
- Sort options: 24hr Vol, New, Liquidity, Ending Soon.
Understanding Yes & No
Most markets are binary — they ask a yes-or-no question. 'Yes' and 'No' are the two outcomes. For example, in 'Will Trump win the 2024 election?', buying Yes means you think he will win; buying No means you think he won't.
The Yes price and No price always add up to 100¢. If Yes is 60¢, then No is 40¢. When you buy one, you're betting against the other.
Placing a Trade
On any market, you'll see an order form (ticket) on the right. Choose Buy or Sell, select Yes or No (the outcome), pick a Market or Limit order, and enter how many shares you want.
- 1Pick Buy (green) or Sell (red) — Buy if you think Yes will happen, Sell if you think No will.
- 2Select the outcome — Yes or No (for binary markets) or any outcome (for multi-outcome markets).
- 3Choose Order Type: Market (fills immediately at current price) or Limit (you set the price).
- 4Enter the number of shares. The form will show estimated cost, payout, and profit.
- 5Click Buy / Sell. For limit orders, your order waits in the book until someone matches your price.
Market vs. Limit Orders
A market order fills right now at the best available price. A limit order sits in the order book and only fills when the price reaches your target.
- Market Order: Fast, fills instantly, but you get the current market price.
- Limit Order: You set the price (from 0.01¢ to 99¢ in 1¢ increments). It waits until someone is willing to trade at that price or better. Market orders fill the limit orders in the book.
Trading Balance & Costs
You trade using pUSD (Polygon USD), held in your connected wallet. When you buy shares, the cost is deducted from your balance. When you sell, the proceeds are added back.
The order ticket shows your estimated cost (if buying) or proceeds (if selling) in real time as you change the amount. It also shows potential payout and profit.
- Cost (Buy): Number of shares × price (e.g., 100 shares at 40¢ = $40).
- Proceeds (Sell): Number of shares × (1 - price) (e.g., 100 shares at 40¢ = $60).
- Payout: What you receive if the outcome you bet on wins (full $1 per share).
- Profit: Payout minus cost/proceeds.
Copy Trading
Copy Trading lets you automatically mirror the trades of skilled prediction-market traders. Browse top traders, choose your risk level, allocate funds, and let the system copy their buys and sells in real time.
Find Traders on the Leaderboard
The Traders leaderboard shows you ranked prediction-market traders sorted by profitability. You can filter by time window (1 Week, 1 Month, 1 Year, or All-Time) to see who's performing best over different timeframes.
Use the Filter button to narrow down by category (Crypto, Sports, Politics, Tech, NFT, DeFi), PnL range, minimum win rate, or number of positions traded. You can also search by trader name or wallet address to find a specific trader.
Each trader row shows their PnL (profit or loss), ROI (return on investment), win rate percentage, and drawdown. Click on any trader to view their detailed profile, or hover to see the Copy button.
Choose Your Copy Mode and Risk Level
When you click Copy next to a trader, you'll set up your copy trading strategy. Start by allocating funds—this is your daily budget for copying this trader's trades. Quick presets are available: $50, $100, $500, or $900.
Next, choose a preset strategy that matches your risk appetite:
Conservative: copy 5% of the trader's trade size with a $250 daily limit and tight risk controls (5% slippage, $50 max per trade). Best for cautious investors.
Balanced: copy 10% of the trader's trade size with a $500 daily limit and moderate settings (10% slippage, $100 max per trade). Recommended for most users.
High Conviction: copy 25% of the trader's trade size with a $1,000 daily limit and relaxed limits (15% slippage, $250 max per trade). For confident traders.
Each preset automatically sets copy percentage, daily spend limit, slippage tolerance, and max-per-trade limits. You can override these with custom settings if needed.
- Conservative: copies 5% of each trade, $250 daily limit
- Balanced: copies 10% of each trade, $500 daily limit
- High Conviction: copies 25% of each trade, $1,000 daily limit
Fine-Tune with Advanced Settings
Expand Advanced Settings to customize exactly how trades are copied. You can independently toggle Copy Buys and Copy Sells—for example, copy only buy orders and ignore sells.
Choose your copy mode: Proportional (copy a percentage of the trader's position), Fixed Size (use a fixed dollar amount per trade), or Mirror (copy the exact position size 1:1).
Set Max Per Trade (the most you'll spend on any single trade) and Max Daily Spend (your total budget for this trader per day). Once the daily limit is reached, no more trades are copied until the next day.
Slippage Tolerance controls how much the price may move against you before a copy is skipped. Options run from 1% up to 25% (default 10%). A move in your favour never blocks a copy. Prediction markets move fast, so a higher tolerance fills more trades; lower is more conservative but skips more.
Delay lets you add a pause before copying a trade (0.5s, 1s, 2s, or 5s) to account for market conditions between the trader's order and yours.
Auto-Exit automatically closes your position when the trader exits theirs, keeping your portfolio in sync.
You can label the trader with a custom name (e.g., 'Whale Watcher') for easy reference in your Following list.
Enable Background Trading (Delegation)
By default, your copy trades only execute while the app is open on your device. To copy trades 24/7 even when you're offline, you need to grant background trading access—called delegation.
When you enable delegation, swap.io gets permission to sign trades on your behalf using your existing wallet. This is done securely via Dynamic's delegated access; your private keys are never exposed.
The security model is simple: trades only execute according to your copy settings, from your own wallet, and every trade is logged so you see exactly what was executed. You can revoke delegation anytime from your copy trading settings.
Delegation is optional but highly recommended if you want full 24/7 automated copying.
Manage Active Traders
Your Following list shows all traders you're currently copying. A green dot means the trader is active; a red dot means paused.
For each trader, you'll see their 30-day ROI and your daily spending vs. your daily limit. Click the pause button to temporarily stop copying that trader (useful if you think they're taking too much risk). Click play to resume.
Click the settings icon to edit copy settings on the fly—adjust percentages, limits, or toggle copy buys/sells without unfollowing.
Click the X button to unfollow and permanently stop copying that trader.
Monitor Your Copy Trades
The Your Copy Trades section logs every trade executed by the copy system. By default, you see filled and partially filled trades to keep the view clean.
If trades fail (due to insufficient balance, slippage, or other reasons), click Show Failed to inspect what went wrong and adjust your limits.
The Trader Activity section below shows the recent trades your followed traders are making in real time—this is informational; your copies are executed separately based on your settings.
Total Trades, Total Spent, and Following counters at the top give you a quick overview of your copy trading activity.
Portfolio & Claiming
Track your open positions, profit and loss, and claim winnings from resolved markets. Your portfolio shows what you own, how it's performing, and gives you quick access to sell positions or redeem winning shares.
Understanding Your Portfolio Overview
Your Portfolio page is your command center. At the top, you'll see three cards: your total portfolio value (cash plus positions), your profit or loss over the selected time window, and your copy-trading PnL if you're copying traders.
The Portfolio card shows your cash available to trade (on the right) and your total portfolio value in large text. Below that, you can see your overall P&L for the past day, along with the percentage change. Use the Hide button (eye icon) to mask your balance for privacy.
You can deposit more funds or withdraw your cash using the blue Deposit and gray Withdraw buttons. The Profit/Loss card lets you switch between 1D, 1W, 1M, and ALL time windows to see how you're doing over different periods. A sparkline chart shows your PnL trend over time.
Reading Your Positions
Each open position shows the market name, how your price has moved, and your current profit or loss. Click the market name or image to view the full market details.
The Avg → Now column shows where you bought (average entry price) and the current market price in cents. For example, if you see "25¢ → 42¢", you bought at 25 cents and the price is now 42 cents—a good sign for your position.
Traded shows the total dollars you initially spent on this position. Value shows what your shares are worth now at today's price. PnL displays both your dollar gain or loss and the percentage return. A green plus means you're winning; red means you're down.
Managing Your Positions
To sell a position and lock in your profit or loss, hover over the position row and click the blue Sell button. This closes your stake in that market at the current price and returns your cash to your available balance.
Each position row also shows how many trades you've made in that market. Click the Trades pill to expand and see details: when you bought or sold, at what price, how many shares, the transaction hash, and any copy-trading activity tied to that trade.
You can search for specific markets using the search box at the top, and sort your positions by current value, PnL, size, or market name using the filter dropdown. This makes it easy to find which trades are costing you or making you money.
Copy-Trading Activity
The Copying PnL card shows your profit or loss from copying other traders' bets. It displays how many traders you're following, your active spending versus allocated budget, your copy win rate (percentage of copy trades that are profitable), and your top performing copied trader.
Switch between 1D, 1W, 1M, and ALL to see copy-trading returns over different time windows. The sparkline shows your copy-trading trend.
In the Copying tab, you'll see each trader you follow with details about your strategy (Fixed size, Mirror, or Conservative/Balanced/High Conviction based on copy %), how long you've been copying them, your active spending and allocation, their ROI over 30 days, and their win rate. Click a trader row to expand and see your recent copy trades with them: when you copied, the market, how much it cost, fill status, and outcome.
Claiming Your Winnings
When a market you bet on resolves, a green banner appears at the top of your Portfolio page showing your total claimable winnings across all resolved markets. The banner tells you how many markets have winning shares waiting to be claimed.
Click the blue Redeem All button to claim all your winnings at once, or go to a specific position and click its Redeem button. Redeeming converts your winning shares (worth $1 each) into cash that's added to your available trading balance so you can trade again immediately.
You can only redeem winning positions—shares from markets where your outcome won. If you held "No" and "Yes" won, you can't redeem the "No" shares (they're worth zero). The Redeem button only appears when a position is redeemable (the market has resolved and your side won).
Open Orders & Trade History
The Open Orders tab shows all your pending buy and sell orders that haven't filled yet. Each order shows the market, whether it's a buy or sell, the price limit you set, total size, and how much has filled as a percentage. You can cancel any order that hasn't filled using the red Cancel button.
The History tab lists all your past trades in reverse time order. It shows the market, whether you bought or sold, the price you paid, number of shares, total spent or earned, and how long ago the trade happened. This gives you a complete log of your trading activity.
Discover & Trader Analytics
Swap.io surfaces real trader data and performance metrics to help you discover skilled traders and understand their strategies. Find top performers, compare their results, and copy their trades if you choose to follow them.
Discover Home: Find Top Traders and Hot Markets
The Discover page is your entry point to copy-trading on swap.io. It showcases the most successful traders and most-traded markets, updated every 2 minutes.
The page is divided into three main sections: a featured trader card (top-performing trader from the last week), a grid of top trader cards, a side panel showing biggest wins and losses, and hot markets by category.
Top Traders Section: Weekly, Monthly, and All-Time Leaderboards
The Top Traders section displays 6 trader cards at a time, ranked by a proprietary scoring metric (Falcon Score) over your chosen time window. You can toggle between 1 Week, 1 Month, 1 Year, and All-Time rankings using the tabs at the top.
Each trader card shows their wallet address, total PnL (profit or loss in dollars), ROI percentage, win rate, and a sparkline chart showing the trend of their profits over time. Cards labeled "Whale" have traded more than $1 million total volume—often a sign of serious trading activity.
- 1Click the time period tabs (1W, 1M, 1Y, ALL) to see different rankings.
- 2Browse trader cards to compare their PnL, ROI, and win rates.
- 3Click any trader card to view their full profile and copy their trades.
Biggest Wins & Losses: Who's Making and Losing the Most
The right panel shows the 8 traders with the biggest gains (Biggest Wins tab) or biggest losses (Biggest Losses tab) in the current time period. Each row lists the trader's address, number of markets traded, total number of trades, and their total PnL.
This panel helps you spot both breakout performers and traders who may be struggling, so you can investigate their profiles in detail if you're interested.
Hot Markets: Browse by Category and Timing
The Hot Markets section shows 6 active prediction markets with the highest trading volume or trending activity. Markets are grouped by category: Trending (highest activity overall), Sports, Crypto, and Politics.
On the right, a side panel lists markets by Recently Started (newest markets) or Ending Soon (markets about to resolve). Each market card shows the question, current outcome prices, and total trading volume so you can quickly assess liquidity and market interest.
Trader Profile: Deep Analytics and Strategy Breakdown
Click on any trader to see their full profile. The header displays their name, address, key stats (Total PnL, Win Rate, ROI), and buttons to copy their trades or share their profile.
The profile is organized into three main areas: a large PnL/ROI/Drawdown chart, a right column with AI-generated strategy summary and market focus breakdown, and a tabbed section showing open positions, top winning trades, and recent trade history.
Understanding Key Metrics: PnL, ROI, Win Rate, and More
Every trader profile and leaderboard shows several key performance indicators. Here's what each means in plain language:
**Profit and Loss (PnL)**: The total dollars gained or lost by this trader in the selected time window. Shown in green if positive (profit) and red if negative (loss).
**Return on Investment (ROI)**: A percentage showing how efficiently the trader used their capital. Calculated as (Total Profit / Total Amount Invested) × 100. For example, a 50% ROI means they turned every dollar of investment into $1.50. Higher is better.
**Win Rate**: The percentage of trades that resulted in a profit. A trader with a 60% win rate wins 6 out of every 10 trades. Note: a high win rate doesn't guarantee big profits if the losses outweigh the wins, and vice versa.
**Maximum Drawdown**: The largest peak-to-trough decline from their highest equity to lowest equity in the time period. Shown as a negative percentage. A -30% drawdown means they lost 30% of their peak balance at some point.
**Sharpe Ratio**: A risk-adjusted performance metric (higher is better). It measures returns relative to volatility—a trader with a steady 10% monthly return will have a higher Sharpe ratio than one with wild swings averaging 10%.
**Leaderboard Rank**: Traders are ranked by their Falcon Score (h_score), a composite metric combining PnL, ROI, win rate, and Sharpe ratio to identify skilled traders while filtering out luck and high-risk behavior.
Trader Profile Charts: View PnL, ROI, and Drawdown Over Time
The large chart on the trader profile lets you toggle between three views: PnL (cumulative profit/loss), ROI (return on investment %), and Drawdown (decline from peak equity).
Use the time range buttons (1W, 1M, 3M, ALL) to zoom in or out. The chart updates automatically to show data for the selected period. A steeply rising PnL line indicates the trader is making money consistently; a flat or declining line suggests they're struggling or sitting idle.
